The plan for this year's Halloween was to have our whole family in theme costumes...but then we ran out of time and money. So we put it on the back burner until next year and had to come up with a new costume for Chandler. I was looking around for a new idea and found a pattern for a bluebird costume. With his bright blue eyes and adorable way of flapping his arms up and down when he wants something, we decided it was the perfect costume.
And he looked SO cute...
For Trunk-or-Treat, we decorated the trunk to look like a little nest in a tree and Chandler sat next to it and helped hand out candy.
We got 2nd Place in the chili cook-off!
Hunter's and his friends' awesome car:
One of our friends brought a flower hat...and convinced Josh to wear it.
A few nights later I carved pumpkins with Hunter and Halston (poor Josh was swamped with school).
I made a witch:
Halston made an owl:
And Hunter made a dragon breathing fire:
In the days leading up to Halloween, I also made some chocolate chip pumpkin mini muffins and ate all of them pretty much on my own.
Also, I tried roasting sweet, spicy, and salty pumpkin seeds!
On actual Halloween, we went over to my parents. Since Chandler can't eat candy anyway, we just put him in his costume and he helped hand out candy again.
I vote that we make it socially acceptable to put babies in costume all the time because it is just so adorable and only a couple hours of it once a year just isn't enough.
