Chandler: Month 2

2 Month Stats:
12 lbs 2 oz - 75th percentile
23 1/4 inches - 55th percentile
15 3/4 inches - 50th percentile

During Chandler's second month, we have been continuing to enjoy beautiful, heart-melting smiles. He smiles most and longest right after he eats. We can't get enough!

Speaking of eating, I finally got this breast-feeding thing figured out thanks to Rebecca Stalvey, who showed me the wonders of the nursing shield! It was just in time too, because it was getting so painful I was this close to giving up. I actually ended up exclusively feeding through pumping for about 2 weeks because it was less painful. With the shield, though, it's completely pain free. I so owe Rebecca!

Chandler is also increasingly more active this month. He kicks around more and more and is alert for longer periods of time. We love to play with him! We have also started him on the Your Baby Can Read! program. We'll see how it works...

This is one very curious baby. He always stares around wide-eyed and you can see him just soaking everything in. He is especially fond of windows, lights, and fans.

Chandler loves being outside. If he's crying, he'll stop the moment he'll step outside the door. This is Josh's favorite go-to calming method.

He is super strong; the doctor said his neck was about as strong as some 4 month olds he has seen! Here he is sitting and with his friend Tenley:

Chandler's love of the car has dwindled a little bit. As long as we're moving he is usually fine, but when we stop at read lights he'll cry and then be fine when we start moving again. He also enjoys being pushed around in his stroller when we shop. He just takes everything in until he drifts of to sleep. I'm so fortunate that he's great to shop with...I hope it lasts!

He usually sleeps with his arms up by the side of his head like he's saying "TOUCHDOWN!" Sometimes he's a little more creative.

Bath time has gone much more smoothly since our first experience. The second time he just kind of wimpered a little bit and didn't full on cry, and after that he was pretty much just fine! I love snuggling a nice clean baby.

Here are a few shots from the day he turned 2 months:

Chandler definitely has his mama and daddy wrapped around his little finger. We are absolutely crazy about this baby!

Dad's 56th Birthday

Dad turned 56 this year!

We didn't have the right candles, so we put the 5 in the tens place and 2 + 4 in the ones place...

Best. Dad. Ever.

Easter

Chandler has officially had his first Easter! He had the cutest outfit, compliments of Nonnie.

I love this boy in blue!

The Easter bunny brought him some swim trunks and a float for the pool. We're excited for summer!

We spent the day going to church, attending Mikaela Atkinson's baptism, eating a delicious dinner at my parent's house, and watching the Ten Commandments. We had a great Easter!

Grandpa Baby

After about a month, Chandler began slowly loosing the hair on the top of his head, but not on the sides. So now he has this little grandpa hair-do. Ironically, this is the same way my hair looked when I was born!

Cutest grandpa baby ever.

First Smiles

At around 5 weeks, Chandler started gracing us with his first smiles!

He doesn't just have an amazing smile, but his eyes absolutely light up. It melts my heart! I love seeing those dimples.

First Bath

Chandler's cord fell off toward the end of the first month and we were finally able to give him his first bath! Josh and I were pretty excited about it, but Chandler HATED it. He cried inconsolably the entire time. (Lucky for me and Josh, his cry, like everything else he does, is pretty cute...)

He smelled so good after! What's better than cuddling a sweet baby right after his bath?

(As a side note, I had a terrible time with breastfeeding and had to pump for awhile while we figured things out. Fortunately we did, thanks to Rebecca Stalvey! Breast shield = Best invention ever.)
